Attività

CHARACTERIZATION AND INNOVATIVE TREATMENT OF CONTAMINATED SOIL AND WATER (CARTIN)

Research Activity

- Use of humic acids and soluble bio substances isolated from urban waste (humic acids like) for the photodegradation of organic pollutants in aqueous solution; improvement of photo-Fenton processes

- Magnetic hybrid nanomaterials formed by iron oxides (core) and organic waste-derived macromolecules (shell) for innovative water treatment processes

- Water treatments in the perspective of water re-use: a fit-for-purpose approach

- Perovskite thermocatalytic materials for the degradation of organic pollutants

- Use of organic nutrients for the remediation of soil and water contaminated by Cr(VI).

Projects

- “EnvironBOS: Isolation, Characterization and screening of environmental applications of Bio-Organic substances obtained from urban biomasses” (EU FP7, Marie Curie Actions, People, IRSES). The organic fraction of urban wastes may provide a large variety of bio-organic substances (BOS) fitting a wide range of uses. The aim of the project is to develop these residues in the detoxification of other aqueous wastes.

- “Remediation of contaminated soil and water by means of Bio-organic substances (SBO) isolated from agriculture and urban biomass” (Università di Torino).
